Regular detergent cleans the surface of fabric but can't reach the persistent odour trapped deep inside the fibres.
GYMWASH is a bio powder detergent and sports wash that uses an oxygen-based cleaning system to penetrate into the fibres, a 4-enzyme complex to break down the oils feeding the smell, Zinc Ricinoleate to bond to odour molecules so they wash away completely, and Tea Tree Oil for its natural antibacterial properties. No synthetic fragrance. Just fresh odourless clothes.
This combination of ingredients is not possible in liquid or pod format. Only powder can carry them all.
Each 900g pouch lasts up to 45 washes. Just 1 TBSP per load.

Give it a chance!
After trying several other brands for activewear I wasn’t totally convinced this would work! But it was cheaper than replacing all of my kit so I thought I’d try it fully intending on using the money back guarantee!! However it actually works after the first wash it was a game changer my kit smells fresh even after a workout there is no stale sweat smell anymore I’m so glad I took a chance on this product but be warned the first wash the water will be disgustingly dirty 😂

This really works...
Love this product! We have a LOT of stinky kit with the whole family being active. This really works, it smells lovely and fresh and I like that it’s better for the environment too. Thought it might be expensive but you honestly only need a small amount. Have already recommended to gym buddies!

My Scepticism was literally washed away
I’m a marathoner, so I run, a lot, also I am very sweaty, as much as other detergents seem to be ok at cleaning, after a while, whilst training, the faint smell of BO would be very apparent, saw Gymwash and read it’s claims, sceptically I ordered some, my scepticism was literally washed away, it surpasses all its claims, no harsh chemical or synthetic perfume smell to mask the b.o. just clean odourless training gear.

Open minded - converted
With a skeptical but open mind I plunged to purchase GymWash. Hubbies gym tops being nylon hold the smell and don’t wash great - having used this a few times. All smells have gone. To add his arm pits were crusty from too much deodorant and this too has gone and are soft again like new. Colours are still bright - not bleached. Would highly recommend to give this a go.

Powder is the only format that can hold our full cleaning system. Our oxygen bleach and its activator are reactive. They need to stay dry until they hit water. Put them in a liquid and they'd burn out in the bottle before you even wash. Powder also lets us include lipase, the enzyme that breaks down oils trapped in synthetic fibres. In liquids, lipase gets eaten by the other enzymes while it sits on the shelf. Same story with zinc ricinoleate, our odour-neutralising ingredient. It holds up far better in a dry formula than in liquid, where exposure to moisture and air can weaken it over time. By the time a liquid reaches your drum, half the formula has already compromised itself. Powder means nothing has.
One bag is 900g and contains 45 washes.
Yes to both! All our products raw materials are vegan and our product is also cruelty free.
We use tea tree essential oil which leaves a fresh scent on your clothes without it being overpowering.
None of our ingredients are known to irritate skin. We don't use any synthetic fragrances which usually irritate people's skin.
Please note that our detergent is bio. So if you're skin is sensitive to enzymes then our product may not be suitable.
We offer a money-back guarantee so please get in touch with us support@gymwash.com if you aren't happy. We never want anyone's skin to be irritated!
We recommend placing the powder directly into the drum of your machine.
One TBSP (20g) is our recommended starting point. For very-stinky loads use two TBSP (40g).
We're doing our best to use less plastic. A lot of our customers already have scoops from other products. We felt it was wasteful to include one. Don't worry if you don't have one. One wash is one TBSP (approximately 20 grams).
Yes. GYMWASH is formulated to activate at 30°C — so a cool wash is all it needs. You don't need to run a hot wash to get results, which is better for your clothes and your energy bills.
Yes. GYMWASH contains no chlorine bleach, optical brighteners or harsh surfactants — the ingredients most likely to fade darks and dull bright colours over time. The cleaning action targets odour and bacteria, not colour.
If you are doing a soak using GYMWASH then don't soak for over 60 minutes. As excessive soaking could lead to an increased chance of colour fading.
Also, if you are concerned about colour fading then be sure to test our product on a small part of your item.
Yes, absolutely.
Yes - GYMWASH contains a very small amount of limonene, which is a naturally occurring compound found in the tea tree oil we use for fragrance (typically around 0.5–1.5%). While the amount is tiny in the context of the full product, we include it on the label in line with allergen regulations.
Yes, while GYMWASH is formulated for the persistent smells in synthetic fabrics, plenty of customers use it across their whole wash: school shirts, work uniforms, bedding, towels, sports kit. If your household generates a lot of sweat-heavy laundry, using GYMWASH as your main detergent simplifies everything into one product.
Yes. GYMWASH is formulated for synthetic fabrics where odour builds up deepest, but it works on cotton and cotton blends too. School shirts, work uniforms and cotton gym tops can all benefit from GYMWASH. Just check the care label is suitable for bio detergents.
